If you’re interested in real vampirism, then I can’t help you, because real vampires are born vampires not turned into them. The individual who posted links to sanguinarius and drink deeply and dream is incorrect, because those two websites are for real vampires, not mythological ones.
In myth, however, the most common way you turn is like this:
The vampire must drain you almost completely of blood by drinking it out. Then the vampire feeds you his/her blood, but just enough so that you change. After that, the physical body goes through death and usually by the next nightfall, your transformation is complete and you are a vampire. Some myths claim that it is painful, some do not. Some claim that it happens quicker.

It depends on what kind of lore you are going by.
In many cases a person cant actually turn into a vampire, one vampire must breed with another.
In other cases vampires are undead that rise from the grave or a state of sleep as a regular person who thirsts for human blood. Over time these vampires grow stronger muscles, elongated canines and an aversion to light.

Ok, here is what i know (I am not a vampire, unfortunately, so i can just give u what other vampires have told me)
1 – The vampire bites you
2 – The vampires cuts himself/herself and lets you drink his/her blood
3 – Over the course of about three days, you slowly turn into a vampire
4 – It hurts with some people, but others do not feel anything
5 – When the transformation is finished, you will have this strong thirst
6 – You must find a donor and drink SOME of his/her blood
